An Itch You Can’t Quite Scratch
Skin conditions such as eczema, dandruff and psoriasis, while not life-threatening, can leave you feeling itchy and annoyed. Elite Skin can help you find relief and manage these conditions to make flare ups much less frequent.

Eczema
Eczema, also known as atopic dermatitis, is an inflammatory skin condition that sees red and scaly patches appear on your skin. Eczema can appear on the face, scalp, knees, arms and wrists. These patches can be easily irritated, causing itchiness, but it’s critical to avoid scratching the affected areas to reduce the chance for infection.
Eczema affects people in different ways, but there are a number of potential conditions that can cause a flare up.
As eczema affects people uniquely, treatments are also often unique to the individual. From topical medications to light therapy to education on specific moisturizers and other products to use, Elite Skin can help you better manage your symptoms to avoid flare ups.
Dandruff
A common scalp condition that causes skin to flake and fly off. Though dandruff is not contagious, or seriously affecting to your health, it can be a frustrating and embarrassing thing to live with.
Dandruff tends to flare up more often when you are stressed or during cold, dry seasons. Most forms of dandruff can be treated with a gentle daily or even medicated shampoo. If your condition still isn’t improving though, Elite Skin’s expert dermatologists can help find you a treatment that works.

Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic skin disease caused by an overactive immune system, creating excess skin cells that build up quickly, often causing redness, discoloration, scaliness and itchy patches on your skin. While not contagious, it can be both an embarrassing and uncomfortable condition to deal with.
There are five types of psoriasis:
The most common type, plaque psoriasis accounts for over 80% of psoriasis cases. These plaques appear as raised, inflamed and scaly patches of skin that may also be itchy and painful.
Inverse psoriasis are smooth and shiny patches on the skin, primarily in places where your skin folds such as your underarms or in between your buttocks. Many people with inverse psoriasis have another type of psoriasis elsewhere on the body at the same time.
Guttate psoriasis is relatively rare (only about 8% of total psoriasis cases). It often starts in childhood, though it can occur at any age. Guttate psoriasis develops as many small, round, and scaly red spots, often located on the arms, legs and torso. It also tends to flare up in conjunction with other types of psoriasis.
While only 3% of psoriasis cases are pustular, the condition tends to be more common in skin of color. Symptoms include white or yellow, pus-filled, painful bumps that may be surrounded by inflamed or reddened/discolored skin. People with plaque psoriasis or other types may also develop pustular psoriasis over time.
Most common in Asian skin tones, erythrodermic psoriasis often affects nearly your entire body and can be life-threatening. This type of psoriasis disrupts your body’s normal temperature and fluid balance, potentially leading to shivering and/or edema in different parts of the body. People with erythrodermic psoriasis may also have a higher risk of infection, pneumonia and heart failure.
There is no complete cure for psoriasis, but there are many effective treatments, such as topicals, phototherapy and systemics. Elite Skin can help determine the most effective treatment for you, improving your symptoms while lowering the risk of developing additional related comorbidities.
